"You have something in your teeth..."

I believe that when a person can sit back and take criticsm and try to understand what the other person is saying about them, that is the time to say wow. Because he/she is strong enough to analyze themselves and to take criticism from someone who is important to them.

I remember when Becca would walk into French class about once every week or two and say, "Ryan, you fucked up. Here's how. Now fix it." It was never THAT harsh, but it was along those lines. Very honest. But she knew I could take it and use it to change things for the better. She is not so honest with everybody. And Sandy is right in saying that there are different degrees. Some people can take a ton of criticism at any time, while others find it offensive or backstabbing. Still others can take it in moderation. It is all about sensitivity.

Or is it?

Because I'm a very sensitive guy. I'm sure that the first time Becca did it to me, I was shocked. Probably upset too. And a little annoyed at her blunt honesty. But now, thank God for honesty and Becca in French class. She is smart. She uses her head and knows when to stop. She is not overly honest either. I respect her for her tact. Her honesty even brought/brings us closer as friends because I know I can trust her.

I think that everybody should have a friend like that. The one friend you can count on to tell you that you have something in your teeth.
