Wooooo first car accident in Julia's driving history! Stupid slushy snow + unecessarily sharp curve LESS THAN 100 YARDS from my house. (Thaaat's right...pass that blame.) At least that guy's truck was there as a buffer or else I probably would have spun off the edge of the steep hill and wrapped around a tree.
I wouldn't have even gone to class had it not been for a quiz that I bombed anyway. A class that I now plan to withdraw from...so my presence was absolutely pointless. And I actually considered lying to my instructor before class by telling him I got in an accident so I wouldn't have to go to class. But I went anyway. And ended up having an accident. Thanks a lot, powers-that-be.
And thanks also, powers-that-be, that Danny told me that morning, "If you start spinning, whatever you do, don't slam on the breaks." That popped into my mind as I wildly fishtailed all over the street and my first instinct was to hit the breaks. And that could have been bad. Well...could have been worse.
The car's not so pretty anymore. It runs like shit, but at least it looked relatively nice, and that was okay with me. Now the outside matches the inside. Blagh. On the bright side (I still maintain that there is virtually always a bright side. And that "virtually" is such a great word to throw into an otherwise black-and-white statement such as that because it basically gives one no obligation to defend oneself if a contradictory situation presents itself.) Anyway...back to that bright side...my car still runs. So there's that. But bye-bye sleek shiny body. So long tail-light and front right blinker. Goodnight moon.
Oh well. I'm too busy to worry about it.
I have to drive to Wally Wurld tomorrow to get a lantern for my DP so he can do his lighting test at 2. I guess that's my job. And hurray! -it's supposed to snow all day tomorrow. I'll just go 15 mph the entire way.
