Political debates are supposed to help the American citizens decide which candidate will suit their needs. However, do these political debates really do that? Do they really help us determine whom we want for president? Many would say the answer to these questions is no. More than 50 percent of the time candidates do not completely answer the questions. Moreover, when they do, they like to throw in statistics, many numbers that do not mean anything to the common man. This is just one of the many things they do wrong when trying to reach for our vote.
They also like to do a lot of name-dropping…who are these people? They throw in the names to sound important. They not only confuse us by name-dropping but also by using big words that no one know what they mean. Think about it, if they were smarter, which obviously they are not, they would not do all these things. They are using all the wrong methods when trying to get our vote. As they probably already know every vote counts yet they still do not seem to realize they are loosing their biggest amount of votes. The people that are going to wake up and vote this year are immigrants and the age group, ranging from 18 to 25.
I strongly doubt that these immigrants and young kids have an understanding of this ridiculous diction. These statistics, names, and words mean absolutely nothing. And we all know that when we don’t understand something we tend to forget about it leave it alone and don’t touch it. We are afraid of the things we do not understand. When we are confused, we loose all interest and stop caring. That’s what is happening to the voters they are being confused by the candidates and come November, election time, no one will vote because everyone was undecided in who to vote for. These debates are not real, they keep talking about new plans, tax cuts and lowering the deficit. At the end, all it boils down is which one can we trust more than the other. The presidential debates may not be of any help but that does not mean that we should disregard the elections. It is our duty as citizens of this country to vote and be involved. We must all do our homework and not expect the facts to be fed to us. We can use the internet or is it internets.,.? To find the facts on the candidates and decide which one you will benefit the most from.
