O good St. Gabriel, God inspired you to love the passion of Jesus as it was reflected in the heart of Mary, his mother. By her side, you stood beneath the cross of Jesus, gazing on him as she did, and sharing her compassion ( Read more... )

Confiteor or Lord's Prayer.

I don't know any prayers, actually. So I don't know why I asked that.

I'm glad you decided to let me help you, Sylar. I'll help, I promise.

Confiteor...

I confess to almighty God,
and to you, my brothers and sisters,
that I have sinned through my own fault,
in my thoughts and in my words,
in what I have done, and in what I have failed to do;
and I ask blessed Mary, ever virgin,
all the angels and saints,
and you, my brothers and sisters,
to pray for me to the Lord our God.

People only change with others.

If you have these things memorized, and believe in the words in them, why do you do all the things that you do? I'm not trying to be mean, I really am just curious about that.

You promise that you're actually going to try? You're not lying, and you're not pretending?

I just do them.

I am trying. I will try.

Okay. Like my compulsive need to constantly rebel against whatever my parents say, you feel the need to do these things. You don't have any idea why, though?

Doctor Suresh told me I was special. I was on his list.

But I had nothing.
And now I have many.

... I really hate that man. I do. I really, really do. He causes all kinds of trouble.

You don't think you were special, as Gabriel? That's kind of stupid to think, sorry to say. And now you have all kinds of abilities that make you flip out and go all power hungry. You have some kind of twisted hero complex that rivals Peter's, and...

Well. You're just going to have to find other ways to be special now.

I killed Chandra.

I was in a very futile situation. A watchmaker's son who became a watchmaker.

Who is Chandra?

How is honoring what your father was by becoming it yourself a futile situation? I'd think that was kind of meaningful.

...Chandra Suresh. Mohinder's father.

It just meant that it would continue. Going nowhere. No progress, no evolution, just staying the same. A static life is futile.

His family has a lot of weird names.

That's not true. You could have met someone, got married, had kids. You could have eventually made yourself something more than a watchmaker's son, if that's what you really wanted to be. You just took the easy way out, and went all crazy and power hungry.

M...oh?

...That's futile and the easy way out.
