I don't regret it.

Not everyone here is self sacrificing. People fight to survive. For one there is that says they will die for another, ten more would prefer to live themselves.

You had it right the first time. He's average.

He's so average he has to steal other people's powers, just so he feels special. I don't think you get much more pathetic than that. At least Peter gets his powers without leaving a body count behind him.

He doesn't like being reminded of the fact that he's average. It makes his itty bitty average heart hurt.

No matter how many people's powers you steal, it will never be good enough. It'll just make you into more and more of a monster. And whoever you're trying to impress will never accept you.

And again, I don't care what you think of me. I don't need to be "fixed". And you can wish for my powers all you want, but it ain't happening.
