Written in Dublin on 25th
On Tuesday morning I arrived to Narita airport, having lost a day to flying and timezones. I had woken up 3.30 on Monday morning, taken a taxi to Dublin airport with
arvoitus (who was visiting me few days, had great time, thanks!), and drowsed in plane. The flight from Paris to Tokyo took 12 hours.
After I had arrived I awaited for the friends to arrive and after that we took a train to downtown. The nature near the airport was green and looked quite different, but soon it turned into houses after houses. We arrived to
Takadanobaba without an incident and easily found
Tama Ryokan (ryokan means Japanese Inn, or home stay
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ryokan_%28Japanese_inn%29 )
The check in was at 15.00, and we arrived at midday, so we just left our luggage and went to meet Jarel, who showed us around a bit. We ate sushi in small place, where small plates with different sushi were set on moving belt and customers picked what they liked. In the end the plates were counted and we were charged accordingly. Sushi was delicious.
Then we checked in Tama Ryokan. Me and
nahkasiipi got a cool room (the one pictured in the webpage), traditional Japanese style, paper door and all. Beautiful and comfortable.
After we had settled Jarel gave us a tour in Waseda, where he had been studying. We saw the university, the window is his dormitory apartment, an Inari shrine and beautiful garden.
Later we met
raino in a bar/restaurant thingie izakaya and had great evening with food and few drinks.
Slept quite well that night :)
