I guess I'll make a fast update to survive the last hour of boredom at work.
For a Monday today has been quite a silent day, waiting times between phonecalls long. Oh well, I'm sure thee will be busy days a plenty in future too.
So, this weekend I did tourist things.
On Saturday I left home early, took the train to City Centre and joined a historical walking tour. It lasted about 2 hours and we visited several interesting historical buildings. The guide told quite many, interesting things. History lesson made even more interesting.
After the tour I... shopped. Quite a bit infact. But at least now pretty much everyone I was thinking about buying something to has the present just waiting to be wrapped.
Then I spend lazy evening at home.
On Sunday me and my flatmate S went to this tour:
http://www.overthetoptours.com/wicklow/wicklow.html SInce S had been in Wicklow several times, we had planned to take the Celtic tour, but we didn't made reservations, and it was sold out.
We drove on a minibus over the mountains. The old military road was narrow, and curvy, but the scenery was great and the driver told us lots of interesting things. We saw several lakes, lots on mountaind, some streams and overall enjoyed the great views.
We also saw quite a high waterfall. Tightly no access there tho, thanks someone killing himself on the slippery rocks some years back and the landowner having to pay compensation. So, we were just able to admire the view to the valley from the roadside, behind warning signs and fence.
For lunch we stopped in a village called Laragh (I think). Me and S got a huge plate of chicken pie, served with smadhed potatoes, carrot and so on. It was delicous.
Then we went to Glandalough 'Twin Lakes'. It rained a bit when we arrived, but not enough for me to get wet. There was old monastery site with 7 chirches, but all of it is in ruins now. Only one church still has a roof.
Then there is those twin lakes, and the Wicklow mountain. The nature in Glendalough was very beautiful, interesting rock formations, old forest. One could spend a day wandering around there. There is many foot pats around the area, and I guess I'll go there again to hike some day.
Yes, I took plenty of pics. I'll make a pisture entry later.
Now I'm off :)
