pure and simple idiocy
As most of you know, I work at a Harley-Davidson dealer. Everyday I have to deal with stupid people and questions. I know, I know, welocm to reality.
Anyways I had a thought earlier concerning the helmet laws in this state.
The way that the law is written, as long as you have a "protective head covering from the approved list" you are ok. The only problem with this is that there is no list. What a wonderful state we live in huh?
Many people who ride like the state to leave it up to the rider as to whether they wear a helmet or not. That is so retarded. In many instances, if the person had had a DOT approved helmet on they would have survived.
Wearing what we affectionately call a "Brain Bucket", or novelty helmet. I see many motorcyclists riding with these on. With this type of helmet you are almost as assured a death as no helmet at all.
Words of Advice: Ride safely and always wear a DOT approved helmet. Many of my friends, including myself, want a motorcycle. Please, if you read this, keep this post in mind.
