people are motherfuckers.

in the course of a somewhat convoluted journey to chicago that involved my suitcase sitting overnight in newark airport, all my jewelry was stolen out of my bag. that is all pairs but three of a probably 40 pair collection of earrings and several necklaces. none of the earrings are sentimental except insofar as I loved them, but three of the necklaces were. in case you were wondering, I haven't gone outside without a pair of large dangly earrings probably since I was thirteen, at the absolute oldest. probably younger. and the style of earrings I like isn't exactly easy to find. probably $500-600 worth of stuff got taken.

motherfuckers also took about $10 in quarters (which is I'm sure what tipped them off to the idea of looking in my bag - the jingling noise) and an old cell phone. didn't take anything else though. not a hack job. semi-intelligent.

I've done denial, I've done rage, I've done grief. I'm ready to do new-jersey-sicilian. is that part of the kubler-ross stages of grief? probably should be. it involves kneecapping bitches who steal your shit.
