What's the word for the feeling you get after you're done crying and everything seems a little bit farther away?

Not sure, but I just finished the first Night Angels book by Brent Weeks and it made be cry. Not from the story, but from the acknowledgements at the end. I was so touched in fact that I sent an email to the author complimenting him on it.

Actually, I cried when I read the dedication to A Conspiracy of Kings as well; Megan Whalen Turner thanking Diana Wynne Jones for giving her a leg up? The world is complete.

Please don't die, DWJ. I'll miss you.

Anyway, Way of the Shadow. Quite good, really likable characters if a bit too archetypal to be part of my fan repertoire, but there's two more books in the series for the main characters to grow and develop. The plot was wrapped up a little too cleanly with every twist completing every other twist in the book, but most of the surprises were genuinely interesting and well integrated into the story line. I'd reccomend highly for a fantasy book about assassins.

In conclusion: really, really good genre fiction.

Now the next Locke Lamora book needs to come out so I can get my gentleman thief fix.

Cassout.
