I don't know why I decided that it would be a good idea to wear heels to work today, especially without my regular backup pair of flip flops in my purse. At Metropolitain the floors consist of a mixture of hardwood, tile, and some slippery, greasy rubber in the kitchen. I feel like a complete idiot when I am trying to walk from one place to another, taking teeny tiny steps so I don't fall on my ass. I would live in flats all day if I could, and these experiences in heels (and I'm only talking 1 inch heels, here!) confirm that feeling.
I'm excited for a lot of things that are coming up in the next few weeks. I'm excited to have a weekend with Chris - granted, we're working on the Saturday but at least it's time together. I feel like we never see each other when I get home at 8pm and he has to be in bed 2 hours later because he wakes up at 5am. It's going to be great when I finally work a normal person schedule! I'm excited for the party we're having at Lisa and Libby's place next weekend. I'm SO excited to head to Sudbury for the Canada Day long weekend!!! I haven't been to Sudbury since April 2006, and I haven't visited my mom's side in Sudbury since July 2005! Chris and I are heading up on Friday the 29th (My last day @ Metro - another think I am excited for!) and are staying at the cottage of some family friends. The cottage is on McFarlane Lake, the place where I spent every single summer while growing up. When I think of McFarlane Lake I think of hiking Blueberry Hill, I think of maple cookies and corn flakes, I think of covering myself with clay from the lake, I think of seaweed, I think of water fights, and I think of berry picking. I associate Sudbury and McFarlane Lake with everything positive about my childhood. I'm excited for Libby's birthday. and I am excited for Dwayne to come and visit again. Finally, I am excited to start my new job. Well, both excited AND scared shitless. This is going to be an amazing summer!!
