I left Boston on Friday night and about 30 travel hours later arrived in Bangalore (Sunday morning, local time). So far, so good. Aside from the families on a single motorcycle, the shanty towns built out of tarps and the remarkably pleasant weather, Bangalore reminds me a lot of Boston. Har, har...
Supposedly a lot of people speak English in India (particularly the people who work for my company) yet I'm quite sure no one understands me. They just bobble their head when I talk to them and say, "yes sir." It is quite amusing.
Well anyway, I am trying to stay up as late as I can before crashing to try and get on some semblance of a normal sleep schedule, but it is about 6:15PM now and I think I've hit a wall. Dinner doesn't start until 8PM and I'm about 25:1 against to make it that far.
Random question: I am obviously being careful about only drinking bottled water. Does anyone have a perspective on whether or not it is OK to use tap water for brushing your teeth?
I'm here for two weeks, including 2 nights of camping out (and I quote from the invitation to this program) "away from the maddening crowds" as part of a leadership training course I'm taking. So I'm pretty sure there should be some good stories to come, hopefully not involving me fighting off a terrible case of diarrhea in the Indian back country... :)
