So here's a tip for all of you who still have another year to go. Do not - DO NOT - fill your schedule from A-H with level fours. It's not worth it, and I can tell you this already based on my first day. I think it'll be a hellish year, but hopefully I'll learn a lot.
Law+Ethics - Ms. Farro is scary, the class is filled with random people. I am "Opinionated" because I can't come up with a good word to describe myself. I should have gone with curious, but I couldn't remember how to spell it and didn't want to look dumb... or maybe FEROCIOUS!
French V - I think it'll be fun. There's a cute Canadian (?) who sat next to me today. His name is Dave. There are twelve girls and three guys - I think we should do Madeleine as our end of the year play. Yes, I'm a bit premature.
Homeroom - Mr. Lloyd's Russell is my homeroom teacher! Unfortunately, I don't have anyone in my homeroom other than Holly and she is occupied with Chelsea. So it'll be a good time to relax and introspect. Or something.
World Lit - Soooo many people. Wow. My only class with Eric. We're reading the Bible ... not to be indoctrinated or anything, I promise. We're learning Sumerian and Hebrew Literature first. Three books in World Lit today, but my book cover is sweet. I read all about Gilgamesh and great floods for homework. We have an essay due Thursday on the five books we would like to have with us in the event of marooning on a deserted island.
Calculus - Erm. I don't think I like Mrs. Fallu. And we've got homework also due Thursday. But I'm going to try to get that done at rehearsal tonight. (All this, and I'm only halfway done with my day!)
Orchestra - yeah, it's orchestra. I'll be viola-ing. And apparently we've got a concert next Tuesday. Too bad my first private for dance is Tuesday from 6-6:30... I guess I'll be a little late. And I've got rehearsal from 6-9:30, so I'll already be late for rehearsal what with dance anyways.
Chemistry - Doc Maris is fun. I don't remember much chemistry. My class is enormous, and Alex is my lab partner.
Physics - I like Mr. Patten a lot. I teach ballet to his daughter, Elizabeth, so he already knows me. It's the second smallest of all my classes, and Beth is my lab partner :-)
I saw only one of my Somali buddies today, Omar. He was confused about where to go, and I don't think he speaks enough English to get someone random to give him directions. I sent him off in the right direction, to the bottom floor of the Classical. Poor kid.
Mikala and I are hashing out Nutcracker parts... should be interesting!
I should go do some more homework. Yuck.
