Hi, campers! I'm Ned, and I'll be supervising the Arts & Crafts Cabin. I know not everyone's a fan of - y'know, the wilderness and archery and swimming and that kind of stuff. I just wanted you all to know that everyone's welcome here, and you can stay for as long as you'd like. (Er - well, until five, when I close up, anyway ( Read more... )

We've got plenty of it, in at least two dozen colors.

I mean, not that I care but... That's a lot of colors. And, uh. Tie-dye sounds like it maybe might be kind of fun...

It is fun! Nothing says happy like a rainbow tie-dyed shirt. You know what you could do is tie-dye a shirt and then use glitter fabric-glue to decorate it. Best of both worlds!

I made a little piggy. A piglet. Out of clay.

Ned has his glitter goggles on. IT'S LIKE BEER GOGGLES. BUT WITH GLITTER. easy_aspie July 23 2010, 10:43:47 UTC
Oh! Got a head start? Great!

You know what you could do, is bring it down here, and we'll fire it in the kiln, and then you can glaze it.

Okay. But I don't know what color glaze to pick yet.

It's a pig of friendship, you see.

Hmmm.

Well, I'd say usually to pick pink, since pink is a pretty pig-appropriate color. But to symbolize friendship...

Maybe yellow? That's warm and friendly, right?

That's stupid. You can't catch dreams.

Father says It's just obvious. Dreams are only in your head. You can't catch them or change them or make them go away or follow them.

Well, I'll be honest, I may not be the most knowledgeable person ever, and yeah, dreams are only in your head, but - dreams are also only as important or unimportant as you let them be.

I have a question regarding the t-shirts being used for the tye-dye. Where were they made? What company produced them?

Are they American Apparel?

Hi, hello, great to see you're interested in the tie-dye! That's a really good question. I just checked the tags - they're apparently Hanes "Beefy Tees", whatever that means. 100% cotton, in case you were wondering or, I dunno, have skin issues or something.

[Pff. Like Adrian Veidt would ever wear a tie-dye t-shirt.] No, I just wanted to silk-screen a shirt for a friend, actually. That way, he doesn't have to exploit the workers anymore. [Yes, he's talking about O'Brien.]

Thanks anyway, though.

[Shut yo mouf, no one is too cool for rainbow-tastic hippie love! NOT EVEN ADRIAN VEIDT.]

Oh.

Well... I don't know that, um. That particular brand is any better manufacturing-wise than the one we have. But of course, suit yourself.

You know what you could do, is re-use something you already have - that way you definitely wouldn't be exploiting anyone, you'd be recycling.

Dream catchers?! Oh, I think I've seen those!

Probably! It's a hoop with a sort of woven, spider-web-ish pattern, and you can decorate it with beads, feathers, whatever you like. They're surprisingly easy to make, too!

I'd like to learn that!
