It was late - Ned wasn't sure of the time, but the sun had gone down hours ago, and it had been a long time since he'd been separated from the group. His first thought was to appear inconspicuous. If he simply looked as if he had no reason for alarm, perhaps others would believe his affront. His second was to keep moving; stay in one place long, and he figured he'd start to arouse suspicion. So the Piemaker wandered through the alleyways of the city, trying his best to look as if he belonged.
