I was a bit meh about this episode until the last minute and then I was all woah! Now I can't wait to see what happens next week.
I'm tired of Kat and her family drama. She needs to drop her dead beat husband already. She keeps standing up for herself and then backing off. It's frustrating to watch.
I felt exactly the same way - now I keep coming up with all these ideas and I'm totally excited again.
I know what you mean about Kat. I get it, he is her husband and she does love him, but he's such a jerk. At least she's trying to get out though. It's a start.
I think at this point it has more to do with the kids aspect then the husband aspect... I mean after all, she didn't change her mind until the little girl told her she was stressed because mommy hated daddy
( ... )
I don't know that Kat's a doormat - like you said, she's trying to balance taking care of her kids and taking care of herself. He's still their father whether he's a good guy or not and she's spent ten years with him. That doesn't just go away. It's a sticky situation for her. Moving out is going to help a lot though, I think.
As a female child of a father quite a bit like this jerk... my mom stayed with him because she thought it was what was best for me... she was dead wrong. I'm still healing those wounds.
If Kat loves those kids and want's to do what's best for her and her kids she needs to get as far away from this guy as quickly as possible.
Very true. I know how she feels though. Trying to distance yourself without telling the people you love that he's a bad person and they need to get away... it's tough. Motherly instincts can pull you either way.
(Love the icon, by the way. Such a great movie. :D)
If I gave the impression I thought that any of this was easy - I didn't mean to. I know how difficult a thing like this is. But sometimes, being the mommy means doing the hard thing
( ... )
Oh, definitely - we can all easily agree she's in a tight spot. I am glad she fired the lawyer though. She needs somebody more down to earth - and who maybe isn't in the debt of everybody's favorite devil!boy...
I just got this one the other day. I had been using my adorable Halloween one but I figured it was time for an actual Eastwick icon. :)
I don't know I really love Daryl. I have mixed emotions about the lawyer. On one hand she's gonna be great to have around if this thing turns ugly and Kat needs someone with fangs.
On the other hand so long as there is a chance of handling this thing civilly and Kat still getting custody I think she should go with someone who can get the job done without rendering the battle field bloody.
Oh I adore Darryl, don't get me wrong. But I'm wondering what those favors might be from. We know he isn't exactly up and up.
For the sake of the kids having to live with him half the time, it needs to be clean cut, you know? Who knows what he could tell them when she's not around if it got ugly.
My thoughts were pretty much that he helped the Lawyer the same way he's helping the girls.
It's always been a matter of dual loyalty with Daryl... or to borrow an old phrase "I'll be true as long as you and not a single moment after."
You know you hit the problem dead on the head... Joint custody should not go to a man that you have to worry about what crap he's going to be filling his kid's heads with.
She needs custody and contact with the donor needs to be on weekends only... possibly the odd holiday.
I don't think Morgan had anything to do with anything... I think he was straight girl eye candy to help build ratings - well that and a plot device to keep will and Joanna apart.
I think that what Penny said was just the kind of thing that bffs say about the jerks that leave their bfs at the altar- esp when said bff is thinking about blowing off a nice guy for the loser.
The whole Penny thing threw me and it pisses me off a little. She would shit if Joanna kept a secret from her, but here she is keeping one from Joanna. Not to mention that it's one that puts Joanna's life directly in danger - which I can only hope that Penny doesn't realize.
*laugh!* Well, he wasn't that cute once you found out he left her at the altar.
No, I know, I would have said the same thing. But it's certainly an interesting idea to see how far Darryl's influence extends and how many of the events in their lives he manipulates.
It definitely threw me. I can't decide if Penny doesn't realize what's going on or if she's way deeper in it than they've let on yet.
I remember some fan girling from an earlier thread on this journal about this guy coming on. That's where I get the eye candy.
The thing is doing something like that would require more effort and thought then this requires from him - he can keep her distracted without resorting to pulling that many strings.
I know Penny hates Roxie so I'm wondering... but does she or doesn't she know that Joanna is in this up to her eyes.
Ohh, yeah, I have no clue who he is so I was not in on the fangirling. Actually, the only guy I've found fangirl squeeing worthy is Darryl so far on this show. The rest are just kind of cute-ish.
That's true; it could be a lot of magic/effort. It's convenient it just worked out for him though.
So, here's my crazy, probably-over-thinking-it theory: I can't figure out Penny's connection to Jaime or Darryl however, I might have Jaime's connection to Darryl figured out. Jaime's a little old but if 'Sebastian' had been with the three for a few years before they did away with him, then he could easily be Jaime's father. Bun gave him up for adoption right away, after all. *shrug* It's a possibility at least.
