My relatively infrequent LJ'ing of late has been compounded by recent holiday with hardly any time spent online. This shall be resolved though. I am to do a little, often, from now on.
Barcelona and Primavera Festival were once again amazing. Having 8 days in the city this time ment lots of proper sightseeing and eating out. All of which was amazing. It's not the most beautiful big city I've been too (Vienna still wins that by a mile) but definitely one of the most fascinating.
After that spent 5 days touring around the mediteranean side of North East Spain and South West France. Montserrat (amazing, not for the monastery but walking around the mountains themselves), Girona, Cadaquez, Castello D'Empuries, Collioure (still my favourite place on PE), Villefrance, Ceret, Perpignan. Bliss really. For some reason I don't seem to be able to tire of castles and churches, the older the better. This can't be said for my travelling companion but what else do you expect in that part of the world :)
Fly back and straight to gig with Glam Chops. Went really well, the rehearsing which has gone on recently (without me mind) has definitely helped. Can't be bothered to wear makeup as worried they may react with mosquito bites and manage to avoid getting drunk before I play.
Best of all though, the DJ played More by Sisters of Mercy (of Vision Thing I think) and Head Like A Hole by NIN (the first single I ever bought, on 12" too). So, the crowd was too young to remember either but what do I care. I danced around. Quite excitedly. Afterwords, TOTP Towers, rum and coke, and somehow getting home without losing my sax. All in all a good two weeks.
