The peacocks are bad but the residents are worse
Well that was predictable. The usual minority of ill mannered, disrespectful, ignorant wankers. I knew it would piss me off and I was right. We now have eight peacocks / hens roaming around the gardens and it’s crazy. They are damaging gardens, they attack cars wrecking the paintwork, they shit everywhere, they aren’t being fed properly, they have nowhere to shelter, they get hit by cars and as for the noise... One poor woman was practically in tears because of the unremitting screeching 10 yards from her bedroom window every night for the past 10 weeks. But still half the room think they’re ‘lovely’. Notably, the ones that don’t have to put up with them day in day out or have them too close their bedroom windows at night of course. When we moved in, just the two of them were quite lovely, but *eight*? God preserve us from the vain snobs who think they are fashion accessories for their stuck-up estate.
The poor bloody councillor did his best but it was like trying to control a playground full of kids with ADHD and a bouquet of ASBOs. I was utterly disgusted. He tried to have a vote but one guy was insisting that wasn’t ‘democratic’ because some people hadn’t bothered to turn up, other people were trying to vote twice. He called it off in disgust and I don’t blame him.
So he is going to write yet another letter but it looks like it was going to be 50/50 to keep / relocate them. If they stay, I strongly suspect someone will get rid of them in their own way. Can’t say I will miss them but that in itself is a good reason to get them moved somewhere safe in my opinion. Oh, and Calendar filmed the whole disgraceful shambles.
