kanisi-kokoro Notes:
- The Teutonic Order, as portrayed in Hetalia, seems to include the Livonian Brotherhood of the Sword from the very beginning (judging by what is said in Estonia's self-introduction)
- Crusades started in the area that is modern day Latvia, and moved North. Latgalians, Semigalians, Curonians and Selonians were converted much earlier than Estonians and Lithuanians. (=Latvia wears a little wooden cross around his neck. Though... it might more be a "look I'm good and Christian don't hit me" than a "I'm deeply devoted to God" thing.)
- Crusading the Baltics was a nice and dandy thing, by the way. It counted as a real crusade, with all the religious advantages that crusading the Holy Land had, but you could go home for winter and didn't have to go the long and dangerous way down there.
- mainly the Latgalian, but also some other tribes fought pretty much on whichever side currently offered the most rewards/which one they thought would be favorable for them. They didn't really take either side and fought either for themselves, with the Christians, with the Lithuanians or with the Estonians.
- Apologies if I screwed up the historical clothes. I tried to find something and in the end went with my best guess, mostly Western medieval clothing with a very few other elements thrown in.
- The human OC is nobody in particular. I was thinking about Lembitu, but that would have screwed up the timeline.
- "Mu isamaa" = "My fatherland" in Estonian
also ...I'm sorry that Lithuania doesn't show up, I hope it's still alright?
