I've been in Botswana for just over 48 hours. It's been really amazing. The people here are crazy friendly, at least the ones that I've come across. A bunch of volunteers were invited to a party that one of the local football teams were throwing at the hotel. We went and were forced to dance, with one guy yelling "shake your body" over and over and over, and others kept bringing us beer. Why was I paying 10 Pula a beer before?? It was such a great release as the Peace Corps doesn't allow us to leave the hotel compound. We can't really wander around much until after training, which I start tomorrow. I'm actually kind of freaked out as I'm finally going to meet my host family....along with moving into an actual residence. I'm told that they do have electricity, although I'm not certian about them having a real toilet. I also lose the little internet that I've been having when I move in with them :-(
I say I'm freaked out, but I am so excited to see what Peace Corps life is really like.
