Car ownership sucks
Recently, a couple of things have gone wrong with Wench. Interestingly enough, both things have gone wrong whilst I was doing something nice. Apparently Karma hates me enough that things must go wrong even when I'm doing good deeds...
Anyway. First one was a piece of trim flying off the car whilst driving back from my mum's to deliver my sister's birthday present and card. Annoying, but not an utter disaster.
The second one was the engine warning light coming on on the way home from a Hallowe'en party, whilst giving a couple of people a lift back to their house, a mere five minutes walk from our place.
Today I have found out exactly how much this is all going to cost, and it ain't pretty.
Were it not three weeks before an exam, I think I would have been quite likely to sell Wench for scrap and get a new car, but alas this is three weeks before an exam, and I just don't have time to go new car shopping. So. Four figure sum it is, unless I'm really lucky (ahahahahaha. haha. ha.1), in which case it will be 'only' £500.
