So, I just got back from an audition for a show. Fuck, been a while since i could say that. It was a long shot but i had dusted off my resume & headshot and threw it out there for this role. Paying gig, professional director, very tempting.
I was actually going to blow it off. But I've been trying to get back into my acting this year. As well as get in shape...I digress.
Anyways, the part I got called to audition for was the lead. The show is about a kid who has Becker Muscular Dystrophy, which is a less serious type of MS. But still fatal. However the script was pretty good, funny, and uplifting. Anyways his college roommate fools himself into "tutoring" this girl he know. BUt she ends up being a hooker, and instead of "hooking up" (bad joke, I know). They talk, kinda but not exactly like Pretty Woman, (no blowjob.)
The read went really well. And the director was very responsive, I also got to read with the actress and actor who play the other two principles. They were both very talented, and I think the actress and I really synched the humor of the scene.
Well, here's to hoping. The show will be in NYC, Long Island, Parts of CT, and even Boston.
