My journal has gone from 253 entries (varying from fanfiction to ill-conceived late-night posts) to now just 50, including this entry. That took a long time. As of now, you'll find no fanfiction on this journal. If I so choose to write it, it will be friends-locked and remain that way. I've decided to be a bit more professional with this, mainly

I SAW IT YESTERDAY MORNING. My boyfriend and I were going to wait 'til next week to see it because I didn't have any cash to pay for us, but when he woke up Sunday, he knew how much I wanted to see it and bought us tickets anyway and we left like ten minutes later and oh god.
Well, uh, I liked it, as a movie in itself and as a book-to-screen adaptation. Matt (the boyfriend) is just generally anti-bandwagon & refused to touch the series, but seeing the movie yesterday convinced him to give the books a chance. Did you enjoy it?

I saw it on Sunday! I was going to go with a bunch of friends next weekend, but I just couldn't wait. XD So I went with my mom, sister, and a friend instead of a giant group. My mom hadn't read the books, but I think the movie convinced her to.
I thought it was good, but not as good as I'd hoped it would be? It followed the book nicely, but I think that it just felt rushed. And then it took forever to get over with, at the same time. I dunno. The casting was brilliant, and so was most of the acting. It was just kind of missing something (for me, at least).

I definitely agree that the ending was rushed and the whole thing with Rue was rushed. The casting was definitely good (as soon as I saw Woody Harrelson's Haymitch haircut I was skeptical, but it worked out!). I've talked about it with Matt, and we've agreed that the movie was lacking a little bit because of the details they had to leave out (like the muttations) and the whole emotional spiel at the end with Katniss and Peeta, but they made up for it in different ways, like Seneca and his panel room of gamekeepers. :)
