That makes no sense at all. If the guy in question has been on T for some time, or has had a hysterectomy, he is definitely not "the sex that bears ova or produces young" any more either. For that matter, neither are any women who have no ovaries, are born infertile, etc. And you can't possible deny people the right to get married on grounds of them not being fertile; it would violate all sorts of discrimination laws.
Yeah, you can verbalize things i'm just upset about much better than I can. Like the biggest point to me is that he has legal, valid identification that designates him as male. But the thing here is that it was from Mass. and Ohio isn't acknowledging that. And I've used that point about how some non-trans men and women who don't produce gametes are still their particular sex.
I don't know if you saw, but there was an article about this same matter in Gay City last week and it said that the man was previously married to another man before he transitioned and he didn't note that when he applied for the marriage license this time. But apparently when the license was reviewed someone found out that he was previously married and that's when they denied the license and started the shit about his sex... or vice versa.
Anyway, are you back in NYC yet? Cuz we should get together sometime to do something soon.
