Forcing myself to post.

I am sucking at keeping up with my journal these days. I've been doing a fair bit of lurking around on facebook though, so maybe that's why.

I've successfully opened, run, and closed "Cabaret" at Spotlighters Theatre downtown. I was the stage manager. I don't even remember if I posted about that at all here. The process for me began before my wedding, in mid-June, and just ended on October 11. It was a huge success with multiple sold-out weekends, and probably made the theater a good amount of money. From my end, it was really hard work, but also really rewarding, and in the end, really very fun. I already miss the people I was working with - this is the first Friday night I've had off in over a month. And I plan to sit on my sofa, drink, and do laundry ( not necessarily in that order). We have "MirrorMask" on netflix disc waiting to be watched, and I think we may do that tonight as well.

School so far this year is going really well. I've decided to up the ante on discipline and neatness in my classroom and it's working wonders. I'm much more relaxed within the structure, and so are the kids. I hope it'll last. We have 125 new students this year, refugees from schools that got shut down last June.  I really like them, so it's a good result for me. They are all really neat kids.

This weekend we are going to the Renaissance Festival, as a sort of birthday thing for me. I turned 31 on last Tuesday. Exciting. ;) But seriously folks. I'm really psyched for Ren Fest, and all the beer, oyster shooters, and turkey legs I can handle. Yum!  Plus we are going to pick out some pretty item for me as CJ's gift to me for the b-day. I love shopping for myself, don't get to do often, so it's a great gift.

Next Saturday, the 23rd, we're going to see BACK TO THE FUTURE - the Original, remastered - in the theater! You can see on AMC's website which theaters are showing it - only one or two showings total - to catch this 25th anniversary edition. I already bought our tix on Fandango because I wanted to make sure we'd get in. I'm really excited about that. Have not been to the movie theater, I think, since Star Trek.

So that's pretty much the news for now. More or less. Maybe I'll be inclined to type out more later, but for now that's all you get, heh heh.
