ESP, you have reached new heights. The images in this post were ALL SO BEAUTIFUL! I think my heart stopped twice - maybe even three times. If I had an award to give, I would give you one! The sea oats! The dragonfly! the agave! THE NECKLACE!!! (as you probably surmised, I am DYING to be one of the East Side Patch Witches. My skin isn't mottled, but it is almost the right color, even after a week of crazy sun) And the image of your sweet little daughter watering ... well, that was definitely one of the heartstopping moments. Just lovely! The heat doesn't seem to be wreaking havoc with your garden - it looks wonderful! Somehow, The Patch always looks lush and inviting. You have a certain magic about you, ESP ... not everyone can capture the garden imagination like you can! I mean, here i am in Merida, where it is horribly hot and humid - and I know that it is TERRIBLY hot where you are in Austin - but visiting via your blog I can SWEAR I'm walking through cool green beauty, with some succulents thrown in for structure and panache. MAGIC, I tell you! Best, Ivette
Hi Ivette. Thank you for all the nice things you said! I don't know where to start, except to say your words of encouragement really do encourage me in these dog-days of summer. I always love reading your take on my posts, so you keep that heart beating at full force, you hear me? :-) I will have a word with the ESP witches if you would like, to see if they have an opening in their "Brugmansia" coven. They have all been very "tense" of late with the stringing of the first poison necklace in the ESP.
The heat has claimed a few casualties in the patch, but I make enough rounds that I have a really close connection with what is going on, who needs a pint of the finest ale,(usually me) etc. I am concerned though as I have a trip to the home-land coming up.
Great to hear from you as always, I hope all is going well in Merida. Have a tequila shot on me when you come up for air.
