Today was one of those rare moments where I actually got started on homework before four o’ clock. I was reading Much Ado About Nothing, Act Five, which was actually an understandable and quite hilarious scene. For those of you who do not know, we are reading the book in class out loud, with assigned parts for everyone.
WHY DIDN'T WE READ THIS ACT IN CLASS? I MEAN, TAKE A LOOK AT THE TYPECASTING:
Wudan [Dogberry]: Come, let them be opinioned.
Tiffany [Conrade]: Off, coxcomb!
Wudan [Dogberry]: God's my life, where's the Sexton? Let him write down the Prince's officer "coxcomb." Come, bind them. --Thou naughty varlet!
Tiffany [Conrade]: Away! You are an ass, you are an ass!
Wudan [Dogberry]: ...Dost thou not suspect my years? O, that he were here to write me down an ass! But masters, remember that I am an ass, though it be not written down, yet forget not that I am an ass...Bring him away. --O, that I had been writ down an ass!
I did surprisingly well on my midterms, considering the amount of studying I really got down to doing. In fact, the subjects I studied the most (Chem) were the ones I got the worst grades on. Not that Mr. Reid has given my midterm grade back. But the highest grade was an 87. What the hell??
On a whole other tangent, we're watching Lord of the Rings in Band class. (Go on, be jealous!) The concert's going to be pretty cool, even though I hate the version of LOTR we're playing, since half the song is one note held out for 20 measures. Ms. Kluga is planning on projecting scenes onto a screen on stage while we play. I wish I were in the audience. All I play through the whole song is different notes held out for 20 measures each, so I doubt they'll miss me!
