Yay I made my lj shiny
Wow. I've been gone a long time.
Took the SATs last Saturday. AHH. I get my results the day before my birthday, what a fine present.
So it's spring break. And I flew in to Maryland Saturday. Whoo! But of course I have fifty million things to do. And I can't get my W.O.M.B.A.T. results for a week, the code's in a Word document in Nevada...*wibblesob*. I told you I hate Nevada!
It's okay, really. And apparently I'm in the piano department's talent show? Is it so? I guess it's so, then.
I'm told by one of my friends that he's going to play piano and I'll be singing. Big River. Yes, that's right, a (at the time) seventeen-year-old soprano playing a thirteen-year-old boy. XD Said friend heard me singing it in class, I showed him my music, he played it, I sang, and he decided this. So.
We reckon it'll be 'Waitin' For The Light to Shine', probably the reprise. (Funny, since I was singing 'Guv'ment' and making a right fine ass of myself!) though we've got to transcribe it as no one has those BEAUTIFUL CHORDS THAT MOVE MY SOUL put to paper that we could see. I've got a nice bit down on my own already, oh those first two chords, when he says, "a cloudy way, I know, the only way I knew"...sweet Heaven. My whole soul wants to dance and be free and just soar. Or we might do "Do Ya Wanna Go To Heaven?" or "Worlds Apart a.k.a The Jim/Huck Malesex Song". Auditions are the week of my birthday, so I'm hoping someone up there will be smiling on me a little more than normal.
And so you know. I make a surprisingly delicious Huck. My accent owns my life.
Wow. I'll be singing. Me, singing. I have had no formal training whatsoever. *fear* But Les Mis went okay, so. Hehehehe they said my range was good. But then, I am a self-made soprano. It took ages for me to teach myself to do a proper high C...*grimace* This is an issue though. The reprise is right in that place where it's so low that it sounds kinda weird for a girl to sing it and where it's (waaay) too high for a boy. But, well. He is supposed to be a manchild, but I think his gonads would have descended by now at least!
I need to figure out how to put up music files. *n00b*
I heart musical theatre. I think I shall have to become involved when I move back, since I'm involved here and. Acting is exhilarating.
And when I've had some sleep I'll come back tomorrow and I'll have some fic for you, I know, it's so exciting. x.X Apparently plane trips home make me want to write fic like whoadamn - I finished three whole things and got lots else done besides. All I need to do is some nitpicking, perfectionist Nazi that I am. *grin* And Jeebus I need to stop ignoring fanfic100. Haha, oh wow, you'll be so sick of me with the Gaunts and their canonical dub-con bisexual serpentine hate!sexcapades if you're not already, I promise.
