Thursdays are long...
or at least today was.
It wasn't as bad as yesterday; but time just didn't pass.
Yesterday I went to get fingerprinted... and it sucked. There is no nice way to say that; it was horrible. There is a new digital ink-less thing that they use now and it hates me - i know machines can't have emotions but trust me this thing HATES me. I had 2 people - TWO! - standing in this tiny smelly room with me going "Try the powder stuff" "Try the lotion" "Try spraying water on your finger and than dabbing it off" I wanted to SCREAM! and they wouldn't take it unless it was higher than %80. For roughly 90 minutes this went on... 90 freaking minutes... "Relax your fingers, but put pressure here" .... WTF?!
Finally they looked at the clock and it was 30 minutes until closing and they look at me and go "We'll just do this the old fashion way" fine; ink me. It was done in one try.
Then on the was back into the office I lost the back to the pin i was wearing. :(
It just wasn't that great of a day. Things more or less declined after that; it ended with me sobbing to my husband about it.
This morning though, I found the back to my pin. :) so it seemed like a good day; and it was... just LONG. but at the end of the day the FBI showed up... it was interesting. HIPPA says I can't say more so I won't - I don't even really know more; but the FBI was at work.
In other news, my Chocolate Mousse Pie did not win the dessert contest. Something called a Texas Tornado did. I don't think everyone even tried my pie which makes it an unfair vote. They should have had designated judges - that actually tried everything. Oh well.
I'm still struggling with finding a new routine to get into - I don't want it to be work, home dinner sleep repeat. I want to walk my dog at least. It is an unseasonably warm fall here; and I'm hoping that will change.
