making international calls from the UK

some of you will know - and hopefully be able to tell me - good and cheap ways of making calls to outside of the UK from inside of the UK.
i would particuallry like to call people in canada and hungary.

Skype is cheap, if you have a suitable PC.

yes, had thought to investigating skype, thanks. think i probably need to fix my PC a bit first... and check whether other people have the same access.

Skype to Skype calls are free, so if the other person has it, thats great.

But you can also make calls from Skype to a normal phone.. and those are very cheap..

I use it to call home when Im away on business, and its great.

Is one P per minute cheap enough? ;) I was looking it up earlier as it happens.

We've used http://www.telediscount.co.uk/

For ages me for the USA, mum for Holland & Australia, Crete. I've found it helps if you add the telediscount number into the phonebook for speedial & then follow the menu from there:)

Bar that. SKYPE as suggested but you both need skype & a headset or skypephone. Telediscount is just as easy.:)

was going to say yes, 1p a min sounds fine... and now i see someone telling me i can call canada for 0.5p per minute, which seems better (twice as good;)). thanks for the info - i'll check out the site and see what works best for which country.

I use Telediscount for work all the time (translation agencies call abroad a lot). Is good.

for calls to canada and bolivia, I use www.moneysavingexpert.com's international call guide- I usually get to call Canada for 0.5p/min.
