The TRANSperspectives questionnaire is the first stage of a three-year world-wide photography project by the internationally exhibited photographer Sara Davidmann, who has worked with trans identified people for over eight years. The project is funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council.
The questionnaire aims to ascertain the range of gender identities that are currently being recognized and utilized by trans people. This questionnaire is built on the understanding that there is a primary internal sense of gender. It is not questioning this. Rather, it aims to gather together and record trans people’s experiences in relation to how the exterior world affects them.
Confidentiality is completely assured. You will not be putting yourself at risk of being identified by taking part in this questionnaire.
Ten people who represent a broad cross section of responses will be offered the opportunity to work on a collaborative photography project that will be exhibited and published as a book.
The responses will be collected and people contacted with regard to taking part in the photography project immediately, so if you would like to take part in the photography please respond quickly. The questionnaire will close on May 9th 2008.
