mooseface came and got me this morning, and drove me back to his for me to pick up the trike...
the trike has been sheltering in his garage overwinter... and then into the spring... and then into the summer while i was caught up with van things and being away.
in return for its company and playing on it,
mooseface has serviced it, and it has shiny new bits, and shiny old bits, and is generally fit - feeling more responsive than it did, though experiencing a slgiht sluggishness in the gears that we have a theory about.
and so i drove it back home today in the sunshine,
mooseface following just in case, and with the intention of hanging out here a while when we got back...
... but the accelerator cable snapped on the way home! *unsmile*
as ever fortunate in my misfortune, it happened just as i was pulling out from a garage where i'd stopped to refuel the trike... and there was a lovely bit of very wide pavement to push the trike onto, and a gentle slope which meant it didn't need much pushing *smile* and a motorcycle shop the other side of the road! *smile* but they didn't have anything that would fit *unsmile* and we sat on the road frustrated at not being able to achieve what would be a simple repair if we had the part, and waited for the recovery service.
there had, however, been a newsagent next to the motorcycle shop which did sell me vegan chocolate, and the garage sold
mooseface coffee, and we had each other's company, and the sun was shining, so it was a pretty good wait *smile*
and now i am home, the trike is on the drive again... i'm not sure when i'm going to be able to make/find the time to go find a new cables ('though i am confident i know where to look, and know where to get one made up if i can't find anything 'off the shelf' that's suitable)... but i'm looking forward to getting it sorted and running the trike again - i have missed it *smile*
