Carry me down
He could hear his own breath louder than normal, with every beat of his heart his foot fell in a matching thump to the earth. He had no idea his feet could move so fast.
Exhausting was taking over, they had been fighting for more than 3 hours by now and the day had already changed into the night. Running, attacking, dodging, jumping up… Iruka couldn’t take it anymore. One of his shoulders was already deadly wounded by an unknown jutsu and he had a wound in his leg that wouldn’t stop bleeding, not even with medic jutsu.
Another one of their team fell; three lost, five to go. The nins they were fighting with were still with six, though two of them were also deadly wounded.
Iruka looked around; Genma was fighting with one of them, Kotetsu had just killed another one, five to go, and Kakashi had his sharingan in full working and his left hand stuck trough another nins chest, chidori; four to go.
Suddenly he heard a sound, so quiet he barely was able to notice it. He turned around only to see a sword combined with chakra floating right to his face, he couldn’t escape! As reflex he jumped up which caused the sword to cut through his stomach.
Everything went quiet for Iruka; the only thing he felt was the sword piercing him. He looked around, time seeming to have slowed down.
Suddenly he crashed down, returning to the real world, he spit out blood and darkness blurred his eyesight.
Then he saw something in front of his eyes, he couldn’t see it clearly but it was something shiny with dark spots on it. ‘A kunai, so this is the end?’ He thought, his mind slipping away.
He waited for the kunai to crash down in his body and take away his life but it never came.
There did happen something, he felt two strong arms pick him up and quickly ran away with him..
‘What’s happening? Who’s this? Why-‘ “ Damn Iruka, you better stay alive!” His thoughts were cut off with these sentences, but who had said them? And then he recognized the voice.
‘Kakashi…’ He thought and smiled a bit because he knew he was save now.
Iruka drifted off, letting darkness and exhaustion take over.
