Wrath of Fury

Typhoon Milenyo ravaged across Metro Manila and some provinces in the north and the south like an unstoppable tide, leaving behind a wake of destruction, gloom, and boredom amongst the innocent citizens.

Last Thursday, the rain was so heavy and winds were going as fast as 200 kph! The typhoon made sure no one dared to venture outside their houses. Even the reception of cell phones was lost. Some say the cell sites were damaged. As Milenyo left Manila last Friday, trees were uprooted and electric posts and billboards were tumbled down. The damage was so large that even if the day was sunny, work and classes had to be suspended!

Here at my place, when it is hot, it is hot. And without electricity to fuel the electric fans or power up the computer and TV, it was very boring here and all I could do was eat, sleep, and play with Chestnut. And man, is it so boring…

It did not stop there. Yesterday, water supplies started to deplete as well since we could not pump water in.

MU and her family even had to go sleep at her grandpa’s house where there was electricity already then.

Mom and I went to my Uncle Anson’s place yesterday. There was already a steady supply of electricity two days ago I think, so we were able to use his WiFi and I was able to play the piano…with the soothing breeze of the electric fan blowing at me.

We were so fed up with the blackout here that Dad decided that we just go somewhere to have some fun. We went to MOA last Friday (when rain started to fall and traffic was bad) where I finished a game of Time Crisis 4 at Timezone and my parents had coffee.

When Dad and I came home from Golden Fortune yesterday at around midnight, I thought it would be another hot night...until the electric fan we forgot to turn off last Thursday suddenly came back to life! I was so happy! Finally, we were back to normal lives.

Now that the electricity is back, it's time to do some assignments and study for long tests!

Wish MU a great performance tomorrow at Teachers' Day Program! I wish I could watch her perform on stage....
