SJCSAA Badminton Tournament

I almost forgot to post again! Anyway I have a lot to write about so I need not worry.

Today was the 4th SJCSAA (Saint Jude Catholic School Alumni Association) Badminton Tournament. Well, it was a hasty decision for me whether to join or not since I was worried that there would be a lot of homework, but then I knew later that there would be no classes tomorrow! So I joined, and dad is my partner.

We barely had two weeks to practice, but with the hectic schedules in the Ateneo, we were only able to practice for a total of three or four nights. I haven't played for a long time...The last time was around summer? And that was not "real" badminton. It was just for fun.

We had to wake up at around 6:30 just to prepare and arrive at Court Zone early. (Parking is a big problem there.) Well, a lot of people were already there when we arrived, practicing their smashes and drops.

I don't have to bore you with every game I played, do I? All I can say is that at the first few games, I was not in tip-top shape and my play was not so good...in layman's terms, I made "give away" shots to my opponents. But during the last game (where the opponents were very good), I somehow had an adrenaline rush and I started to run more quickly and smash more powerfully! It should have been the thought of my friends who supported me all this time.

It was a 1-3 win-loss ratio by the way. We won a game because one of our opponents suddenly had cramps and couldn't play anymore, thus being defaulted.

Even if we did not win, I enjoyed the games. I mean, I know a lot of the people there and I get to experience how to play the game more fast-paced, unlike before and in previous tournaments. And I'm contented with my last game with the adrenaline rush, and scored the most points and "killed" the most shots in all the sets. And to think that they were the hardest opponets huh.

Now I'm a little tired. I need to rest. I'll be going back to Saint Jude tomorrow to watch the Induction Rites. Ciao...
