It sounds like a place I would love! I didn't grow up with any other languages, unfortunately. I grew up in Kentucky and there people only know American English or slight varieties there of. :)

I started learning French when I was in the 4th grade and thus my passion for languages began. I studied French all throughout high school and even was lucky enough to visit France on an exchange trip when I was 15. I had to collect donations and work like crazy but I was able to pay for it all by myself. My parents just didn't have the money to support me. It is sad though because I have lost most of my French. I just never had anyone to practice/speak with and I can remember things here and there. I can definitely still read French and I love speaking it to myself from time to time.

I do speak Danish, although I am not fluent. I want to be though. I will get there. The problem is Daniel and I have such deep conversations and we wouldn't be able to in Danish unless I improved immensely. We try to talk in Danish as much as possible. I can understand a lot though and I am able to communicate well. I also speak and read a bit of Spanish. I think languages are the key to every culture.
