Moving Time

Larry announced a couple of days ago that he's going to move to Chicago. He's probably not moving until this summer. Donnie announced that same day that he was going to go paint with his step-dad this summer. What does that mean? It means that, with Hippie going to Las Vegas, I'll be living alone. If Donnie and I decide to continue "living together," if you can call it that, we won't really be living together. He'll be living here like Larry was living here last summer... not at all. So, in just a few days, my house hunt has gone from a 3-bedroom house for under $600 to a 1-bedroom apartment/house for under $450. At least my dad is agreeing to give me his van finally. In order to get it, I have to pay for a rental car for him until he can afford a new car himself, then I have to "repair" the van. Do you know what's "wrong" (forgive my excessive use of quotation marks) with the van? The taillights sometimes stay on. If you see them on, you can pull out the fuse until you need the van again. The other thing that's "wrong" with the van is that the weather-proofing on the windshield isn't quite on all the way in one spot. So what?!! My dad doesn't seem to realize how jankity my last 3 cars have been. At least this van has a muffler and the transmission is working properly. Plus, as an added bonus, this van is above water!!! It's nice too, because Richie can get into it pretty easily and his wheelchair fits in the back without me even having to fold it up. It's pretty sweet.

Anyway, it looks like I'll be very lonely this summer living all by myself, but at least I'll have my work to console me. This means that each and every one of you has to make an effort to come see me at some point this summer. Otherwise, I'll die of loneliness. I'm not used to an empty house...
