laziness

It's not that I've been all that busy, it's that I've been too lazy to post recently. This quarter so far has been as nice as predicted. Among other fun things:
-loads of time with Tim
-finished reading Revolutionary Road*
-following Dollhouse and Fringe, watching a bunch of old South Park
-World of Warcraft group able to do heroic dungeons comfortably
-increased knowledge of restaurants in our area
-cat-shopping (still don't have one, but working on it)
-baking: challah recipe well figured-out, bagels close
-visits from Bill, Mark, and Nonna
-harpsichord & recorder party! wheee!

The less-good bits are that I haven't been making much progress on research and I didn't get into a summer program I was hoping for, but if that's the worst thing in my life at the moment I'm doing well! I'll apply for the program next year, and the research just requires a bit more dedication. Tim and I have a plan to make each other do the things we've been avoiding a few afternoons a week.

So that's the update. Next: more visitors, more fun, more research!

*Very good book. Modernism is often about feelings of isolation and dissatisfaction related to loss of community and traditional roles- this is the best depiction I've encountered. Definitely a tragedy, but very engaging and avoids being heavy-handed. Why did my modern lit class in college not read it??? Not really aimed at 20-year-olds, but neither was most of the stuff we read.
UPDATE- I've been thinking about this more and realize we focused on books and poems with adventurous structure, which this isn't so much. Still...
