I keep wanting to post on here, but then thinking, 'Meh, why bother?' and doing something else instead. So I've been quiet on here... Growing away as I predicted I would, eventually. But anyways ( Read more... )

Food would be given to the lower strata entirely by inhuman rationing, thus requiring them to frequently steal what they need to actually live.

Water would come from natural sources, such as rivers, streams and lakes, rainwater runoff (which would be the exact opposite of healthy) or stolen from the distribution system.

Machines, by this time, could largely maintain themselves easily. Two machines who's purpose is to maintain the plant, and each other, could keep an entire system running just fine.

Yeah, I was thinking food could be given to the lower strata, who really don't contribute anything at all to the upper strata, causing the upper strata to rather resent them. Water from natural sources is pretty much what I had in mind. I feel that the population would have dropped significantly, so there would be less competition for such things. I agree that machines would largely take care of themselves, but having a few live people around in case of a glitch will always be necessary I think. Good thoughts, though. :)
