That's right-- I got the impression from Katara that you've seen lightning-based abilities in your world, too.

I'd imagine. Would you say you're pretty nearly back to normal, now?

Yeah, there were a couple of people that did those. They weren't real nice.

Pretty much! I'm just sitting around doing nothing for right now, though.

Ahh, well. There hasn't been much to do, lately. [sort of true] It's just been pouring rain.

Heh. A few years is more than enough excuse to lord it over someone, I'm sure.

I'll never get why all those years make people so much better, anyway. There are loads of stupid adults.

Yeah. I'm still glad they're here with me, even though it sucks that we have to be together here.

Ohh? [amused] Sounds like you've met quite a few.

Mm. Wasn't your world at war-- it is so much worse here, even considering the experiments?

You have no idea. I mean, I've worked with quite a few.

Yeah, it was at war. But war's over now, Fire Lord's defeated...and now we're stuck here in a place where my friends keep getting kidnapped and attacked by people no one can fight. We could fight the Fire Nation. And we were never trapped like this.

Ahh. That's right. You came from different points in time-- I'd forgotten.

It must be harder for everyone brought here on the brink of a victory. I guess I'm just used to facing realities I can't change, in my world.

[a faint smile] But you overcame the odds together once, didn't you? Maybe you just need to learn to recognize victory in this place. You might not be able to break the barrier, or keep each other from being kidnapped-- but you can push through the things that do happen, and keep together. And you've proven you can do that already, haven't you?

There's no real victory in this place against the malnosso. That's a given. And I don't remember ever saying I don't know when I've kicked some fellow kidnappee's butt for being a jerk. I'm just venting. No need for the lecture, man.
