All candidates for government leadership positions, in addition to meeting age and citizenship requirements, must have experience cultivating his or her own garden.
Sadly, this reminds me (and I suspect many others) of Being There.
Certainly! I'm not much of an expert, but my garden is almost entirely edible. The shoots in question are mesclun greens and peppergrass. So far my garden has produced a rather successful crop of marjoram, purple sage, and winter savory, with forthcoming crops of greens (hopefully including spinach, which takes longer to sprout!), as well as some cilantro and dill that I plan on planting tomorrow.
First bit of advice: get some good wormy compost soil from the greenmarket in Union Square. It really makes all the difference for happy plants. Some vendors there have excellent herb plants on sale, too. I'd be happy to get up to my elbows in soil with you when you start planting!
alas, my worm friends, I knew you well. I don't think I will continue with my composting experiments until I have a garage to protect them from the vagaries of the weather or a backyard that I can dig in and insulate the worm farm.

Are you coming to Yuka tonight? We could do a handoff then.

I wasn't invited to Yuka, but I suppose I could drop by and give you the videos. 7 PM?

I'm sure she'd be happy to have you along, if you wish to join in.

Perhaps there's an adult Dickon out there, thinking like a robin, with a bunch of grown-up animals at his heels, and that can still be sexy.

And speaking of, I will shortly have a fire escape much in need of green plants (preferably edible ones), may I count on you for advice?
