An entry devoted to lightning! Whee!

First off, can I just say that people who complain about other people should find something else more important to whine about? Thank you.

So there's a tropical depression around my part of the state. It's been stormy for the past three days, and today's going to be the same way. My mom's now all paranoid about having my laptop be plugged in so I can charge it, or having the router being plugged in so I can use it. When lightning strikes, it doesn't usually actually take the power out--that only happens when it strikes the power station itself. What it does is basically flood the strike area with a large amount of electricity. When it hits your house, it's a huge surge that more or less fries anything plugged into it. Lightbulbs get brighter and can sometimes blow a filament, TVs and monitors blow a fuse, modem parts melt together. It's annoying. Very annoying.

Can I also say that it's annoying when people think they're being incredibly subtle when they're actually being glaringly obvious?

Can I then also say that I'm being very annoying to myself and everyone else right now? Yup, kthx, bye.
