Rarrrraannnnanwwwrrraannanaaaaaaapbbbtthhhh.
That's the sort of intellectually stimulating conversation I've been enjoying all day. My mom and I headed south to visit my grandmother in her ALF, and took my friend's kid, Jared, (my mom's been babysitting him all week, and therefore so have I) with us. Oy. Went to Wal-Mart, then to Grandma's, and we had planned to go to the mall, but the kid tired us out so quickly we just stopped for a quick lunch at Hops before coming home.
Finally finished Hope of Earth and moved on to its precursor, Shame of Man. Having the kid here all week has really slowed down my reading, unfortunately. But today's the last day--his grandma (my mom's bery, bery good friend) is coming home from Colorado on Sunday or Tuesday or something.
My mom was supposed to go to Virginia with my dad next week, but her physical therapy conflicted, so she has to stay home. She appears to have some kind of guilt over this, convinced that I am horribly disappointed at the prospect of not having the time to myself at all. Doesn't really bother me, though, given that they're going up to Virginia again for two weeks in July for their 21st anniversary.
It turns out that Joey never came home--the place where he is told him he couldn't leave. Apparently, they felt he had had too much time off so far this year (he had Christmas and Thanksgiving off, plus three weeks at the end of February to recuperate from a surgery that never happened), so he has to do his fund-raising from there. It's somewhere in Texas. *shrug*
Tra la la ding dang dilly dong.
