from the "Down at the Pond" series . . .
Awhile back I was walking around the pond and saw this dried up old lily pad comfortably ensconced in a mass of bubbles. Some dappled light was coming through the trees, creating all kinds of movements and colors over this delightful portal into an underwater world. I stared at it for a long time until I thought for a moment I was being transported there to be in among the bubbles and little fishes. When I came out of my daydream there was a person standing beside me asking what I was looking at. When I pointed at the scene I was seeing he just said, "Oh," and walked away. I guess you either get it or you don't.
