Friday walk . . .

Jun 10, 2022 22:33

It was a great morning to walk, but I almost didn’t go this morning. At 5:30 we were awakened by rain pounding on the roof. I got up at 6:00 and watched the radar. It looked like the rain was over until the afternoon. I am so glad I went because even though it was humid and about 77 degrees, there was a stiff breeze that kept bugs away, plus it was overcast so the sun never came out from behind the clouds until I was back and getting in my car.

I walked around Eagle Loop again (just short of two miles) and saw a couple of the usual birds, but didn’t even stop to take a picture until I was approaching one of the bridges and saw a beautiful young osprey sitting on a post about 15 feet out in the water. She kept chirping the osprey call and since I was near one of the osprey nests, I figured that is where she came from. I would say this was a female because of the dark feather necklace and a young one because of the orange color eyes. Mature ospreys have yellow eyes. Far off to the west I saw another osprey high atop a tree and figured that was one of the parents. A slight overload of osprey pictures and one of the sunrise sky.
