The wedding was as perfect as could be. The weather was gorgeous, sunny, a light breeze and about 80 degrees with low humidity. I always gauge the weather by the humidity, and when it's low humidity, well, that's a good thing.
Their little spot was dappled in sunlight coming through the trees. I was most nervous about getting good shots with the lighting and being creative and inventive. Graciela made suggestions and I kind of fed off them and got some different ideas of my own. Since no one here will know the couple (except my sister knows Graciela) I'll just show this one picture. Their shoes came off as soon as we got there. I kept mine on though. I took this one before the ceremony.
I took about 400 shots, but some are similar and I'll need to weed them out before I show them the pictures, let them choose what they want and then get them printed. That will be my gift to them.
The gentle and soft-spoken woman who performed the ceremony, Rena, knew Graciela even longer than I did. She was in a wheelchair most of the time (she could walk a little with a cane) and it was a challenge getting through the sand, but we made it. We had some time after the ceremony and taking pictures, so we found a bench in the shade close to the water. We sat there and enjoyed the sea breeze and the view, then the four of us went to the Beach House for lunch. Joe and I talked quite a bit and got to know each other. One thing I found out is that he is from Hershey, PA.
I found out later that this special place was also a favorite spot for Graciela and Herbie, and they would both go there, set up their easels and paint.
