Pete was in the hospital for nine days with pneumonia. To make a long story short or shorter, he is out now but still recovering and getting a little better each day. It was pretty scary there for awhile for both of us, because he didn’t seem to be responding to the meds they were giving him. Anyway, it was quite an ordeal that turned our lives upside down, but slowly things are beginning to get back to normal.
My computer gave up the ghost and died last week. I called my computer guy, Chip, and he came over the next day. After checking things out, he said I should get a new computer. We have had a lot of power surges lately and evidently the battery in my power back-up was dead and I didn’t know it. My old computer was over 10 years old and really too small for all my pictures and gallery business/ads I do. Chip gave me some tips on what to get and I ended up buying one with an SSD drive and I-7 processor, I have no idea what all that means, but when I told the sales guy that, he showed me the gaming computers and said with all the photography I do, that this one would be good to get. It is so fast, I cannot believe it! My old one was slow as molasses and all bogged down. Some of my software wouldn’t even work, and now it all works fine. There are a few new things to learn, but so far everything is going great. One really cool thing about it is the hard drive tower has one clear glass side on it and you can see all the workings of the computer inside and they are all lit up with different lights that slowly change colors. The computer is called an Omen and it has an omen symbol on the front of it that is lit up and also changes colors. I really don’t care that much about things like that, but I’m sure they really appeal to the young gaming people.
I’ll hopefully be back here on a more regular basis now that things are returning to normal.
Oh! And I must share these pictures with you.
Daughter Tracy took these at her work last week. She goes out into the parking area for her breaks, and for being in the middle of downtown, she sees quite a bit of wildlife there. She watched them for quite awhile and finally ended up calling our local Wildlife Rehabilitation Center and they came and took the three babies to nurse and then release when they were old enough to return to the wild. Apparently, they were motherless when Tracy saw them in the hollow of a large tree in the parking lot. I was never a big fan of possums, not really knowing much about them, but these are so adorable, tiny and cute, I think I’ll change my mind. I am in the midst of doing some research about them now.
