So much going on right now. Some things have been resolved, some are in holding patterns looming over us, and some in progress.

Resolved: I got called for jury duty on June 20. I went on line this morning to fill out preliminary forms and spent about an hour doing that, then I noticed there was a place where you could ask to be excused. One of the things listed was Person 70 years of age or older. I'm 72, so I checked the box, sent it in and was notified in a few moments by email that I was excused. Something good came with my old age! They also asked if I wanted this to be a permanent reason and I said yes! I have been called many times and would spend a whole day at the court house waiting my turn and I would always be excused because I have three people in my immediate family who have been in law enforcement. So that's a load off my mind.

Holding pattern: (1) Pete's shoulder has never been quite right since his shoulder replacement last year. The doctor went back in to see what was wrong and said there was a lot of scar tissue on his bicep and he removed it. He's been in a sling for a week now and goes for a follow-up on Friday.

(2) We have been having termites swarming inside the house around the lamp in the front room. Not a lot, maybe 10-20 on several different nights. We are under contract with a company for 18 years now and they sent a nice girl out, but to me she didn't seem to know what she was doing. She recommended spot control around the area of the light. Over a week went by and we heard nothing about setting up an appointment to do this. Called again and they said she had never called that in and that maybe we should have the house tented. We said we wanted to have someone else come out and thoroughly inspect the whole house. I hoping so much that they don't find any. This is the time of year down here that they swarm and this isn't such an unusual occurrence to see them.

Horrible happening: Just got word today that our grandson Zack, tripped, fell and broke his leg in three places and blew out his knee. They did surgery on him today at noon and he will be on crutches for three months....no weight on it at all. The doctors are hopeful that everything will heal fine if he does what he is supposed to do.

Just stuff: The Palma Sola Botanical Park that is just down the road from us contacted me and asked if I would supply some of the pictures I have taken there over the years for their new brochure and website. I have been going through my files and compiling what I think they might want for about a week now and am going to meet with the coordinator of this tomorrow.

Book club on Thursday. The latest book is "Many Lives, Many Masters." It is a true story written by a doctor and is about hypnotism and reincarnation. I liked the book. Debra and I are the only two in the book club who have an open mind and believe in this. The others didn't really want to read it, but it was Debra's choice. It should be an interesting discussion.

And for my picture today, I thought this one I took a few days ago was quite appropriate for this post as I feel like I'm grabbed and being pulled in different directions....or something like that. OR..I’m being held steady by two strong arms.
