I spent today at Debra’s and photographed her on the wheel and also got some pictures of her peacocks.
We’re renting a cabin in North Carolina in celebration of our 50th Anniversary. I asked my sister if she and her husband Dave wanted to drive down and join us and they said YES! Pete and I are such homebodies and never go anywhere, but I’m really looking forward to this. Anyway, this almost 70 year old needs to get in some kind of shape for hiking, so I can keep up with my sister. I am trying to walk or bike ride every day and maybe in the process of doing that I can lose some weight, too. Unfortunately, I didn’t get my walk in today though, but I’ll be heading out tomorrow for sure.
One of the places I’ve been going that I really like is called Neal Preserve. It’s only a few miles from the house and has a nice mixture of sun and shade. Lots of sunscreen and a wide brimmed hat help a lot. I’ve explored some of it, but there’s lots more to see there. Here’s some pictures from yesterday....
Those dark birds are juvenile White Ibis. They will keep their dark feathers for the first year. I can't believe how big they are already.
