simple birds ....

Less is more . . .
I love these little birds. Easy to make, each one different and I like choosing the various glasses, trying not to have any that are alike. It's hard to tell from the pictures, but most all of them are translucent and when held to the light seem to glow and are so pretty. This is the second batch of little birds I've made this year, so I think I have enough of these. They all need to have holes drilled. That's simple, too, with my super little drill press. Next either more owls or more trees, and I've got a real cute idea for a little umbrella, too.

9 p.m.: Prepping on the work bench. I was able to fit 18 birds and one other ornament on the shelf. Because I'm only doing a contour fuse at 1380 degrees, I could put them closer together . . .

midnight: in the kiln and ready to close the lid . . .

8 a.m.: Out of the kiln, washed and clean, ready to drill the holes . . .
